Liverpool FC in the 2011/2012 season

Season 2011-2012 is the 120th in the history of Liverpool Football Club and covers the period from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012 . The season was the 50th consecutive for the club in the top division of the championship of England and the 21st, counting from the last victory at that time of the most titled club of England in this tournament.

In the previous season, Liverpool could not qualify for European competition, for the first time since 2000. Despite the failed season in the championship, the club won the 8th record time League Cup and thus the 1st trophy since August 2006. Also reached the final of the FA Cup . Thanks to the victory in the League Cup, the club automatically entered the Europa League for the next season, and returned to Eurocups a year later. However, in the championship the team finished only in 8th place, for the first time since 1994. For unsatisfactory results in the championship, Kenny Dalgliesh was dismissed on May 16, 2012 [1] .

Season Overview

Offseason

Off-season for “Liverpool” was the 1st after the return of Kenny Dalglish to the post of head coach. In the transfer window, the course was immediately taken to British and rejuvenation. The result of this is the signing of Henderson, Downing, Adam. In the course of previous seasons, the Reds had a problem on the left flank of the defense, which was closed by Jose Enrique, who came from Newcastle. The most valuable acquisition was the signing on the flag of the transfer window on August 31, 2011 Craig Bellamy, who came from Manchester City as a free agent, that is absolutely free.
