World of Artemis Faula

The world in the universe of novels about Artemis Faula is divided into the world of people or "vershki" and the underground world, where the magical folk live, consisting of elves , sprites , pixies , gnomes , goblins , trolls and many other creatures, which tops are considered fabulous. These creatures moved under the ground because of the consumer attitude of the upper people to nature. Underground inhabitants possess magic, and in the degree of development of science and technology, the magic folk far surpasses people.

The Faulow family is an ancient dynasty that runs a criminal syndicate and conducts machinations around the world. For several centuries, they have been represented by representatives of the Dvoretka dynasty, from whose surname the word “butler” may have appeared. Faulov Manor is located in the suburbs of Dublin. The last member of this criminal dynasty is also a child prodigy, and his genius allowed not only to learn about the magical folk, but also to receive from them a significant amount of gold.

Peoples

In the world of Artemis Fowl, in addition to people, there are still many intelligent (and sometimes semi-intelligent) races. These races, which people consider to be fabulous, constitute a magical folk, forced to live underground because of the aggressive attitude of the “verschki,” as the underground inhabitants call people. Underground peoples own most of the magic that helped in the past to hide from people. And now technology helps them.

Elves

About a meter tall, elves roughly correspond to people's ideas about this folk. Perfectly possess magic, have a fragile constitution and pointed ears. The average height of an elf is 1 meter and 1 centimeter. Most of LePPRKON are elves. The representatives of this race in the series of novels about Artemis Fowl include Captain Elf Maloy, Major Julius Krut, Sheeps Dubin, the commander of the flight department Rain Vinaya and the Kelp brothers Trub and Shkryab.

Dwarfs

Born diggers underground tunnels dwarves resemble a cross between moles and earthworms . Gnomes can open their mouths surprisingly wide to swallow the soil, then immediately pass it through their digestive tract and throw it from the other end. But, since the soil contains a significant amount of air, the dwarves need to flush excess gas from the intestines; rules of good gnome tone require it to be done in a tunnel. The skin of the dwarfs is capable of absorbing moisture from the surrounding soil; if the dwarf has not received water for several days, then its pores grow to the size of a pinhead, turning into suckers. The beard of the dwarfs is a cluster of vibrissae , which, when pulled out, freeze and become rigid and hard. Externally, the gnomes are so similar to humans that they can impersonate dwarfs. According to the book " Mission to the Arctic ", all the languages of the world are descended from the gnome, including the American dog. The dwarves appearing in the books are Mulch Rytving, a kleptoman and a thief, and also Ark Sul, the commander of the Intelligence Corps.

Goblins

The goblins who come from lizards are not the smartest inhabitants of the Underdark. Goblins are capable of releasing fireballs , which causes fear and disgust in the lightless gnomes. Goblins are so stupid that they can not simultaneously go and itch. They need to do one thing first. The goblin's worst enemy is another goblin, because these creatures constantly betray each other, trying to eliminate an opponent and gain more power. For goblins in the underworld there is a special prison called “Goblin Silence”. Goblins are the gangs of the triad of B'va Kell and its leaders, Generals Krivets, Slyun and Tugozad.

Centaurs

The non-magical centaur replaces this lack of ability in science and versification . All centaurs are a bit paranoid , and there is a reason for this - there are about a hundred of them left in the world. Their relatives, unicorns, people completely destroyed. Under the earth, there are only six centaurs who understand their ancient language. The centaur language is most likely the most ancient form of writing. More than ten thousand years ago, when humans first began to hunt magical creatures, the centaur alphabet already existed. But to our time, of all the manuscripts of this language, only the "Tablets of Kapally" remained, in which the first paragraph read:

"Magic creatures, listen soon,
The era of people is coming.
Hide better so as not to find
Run into the depths of the earth. "

The only representatives of the race in the series of novels are the most talented inventor and brilliant scientist among all the underground people, Foaly, and his girlfriend Kobylin, whom he met in one of the clubs.

Pixie

Small, graceful and angry pixies are engaged in the production of various goods in the underworld. To this people belongs a rich family of Koba, and one of the members of this family is Opal, who, because of the desire to become the queen of magic nations, organized a goblin uprising. Pixie love two things - power and chocolate . The representatives of this people are considered to be the Krill brothers - Merval and the Discant, as well as Stuck Fart.

Sprites

Green-skinned winged sprites believe that a pair of wings makes them the coolest of all and will force any girl to fall into their arms. Sprites are considered the most arrogant and self-confident representatives of the magical folk. Because of the wings they are used as reconnaissance aircraft and light aviation. It was the representative of this race who handed Artemis Faula the Book, a magical artifact containing laws, rituals of the underworld and a lot of information about magical creatures. The family of sprites also includes Chick Treplow - the corporal who was saved by Alfie Malaya at the very beginning of the goblin uprising.

Trolls

Stupid but terribly strong Trolls are giant ape - like predators. Trolls are semi-intelligent animals of the wizarding world, which, breaking sometimes to the surface, carry everything that falls under their paw, like a natural disaster. They hate noise, light and, accordingly, fire. But magical creatures will not kill a troll, except for the sake of saving life, one's own or someone else's, because they, too, are representatives of the magical people. The only one who was able to defeat the troll one on one, even without firearms, using only the medieval mace - is Dvoretski, bodyguard and servant of Artemis Faula.

Demons

Demons fall into two categories: imps (young demons that have not yet been transformed) and adult demons. Among the demons there are also very powerful sorcerers, who by their strength are superior to any elven mage. In the distant past, it was a group of demons-sorcerers who transferred an entire island inhabited by demons, beyond space and time. Demons are very aggressive creatures that obey their leader in everything. Rarely do demons go against a leader. Adult demons reach a height of five feet, they have big horns that are pride for each demon. The strongest scales of dark red color cover almost all their body. They lived on their island for many millennia, and almost everyone has already forgotten about them. But in the book "The Lost World" thanks to the efforts of Artemis Fowl, his friends and the young sorcerer "Number One", the demons were saved and returned to Earth, where they joined the inhabitants of the Lower Levels.

Gremlins - a little-known race of magical folk appear in the story only in passing, for example, on p. 20 of the first part of the novel

"The hill was chock-full of magical folk who arrived here on a full moon, and the flight delay caused widespread indignation. A young girl from the sprites was hiding behind a ticket counter besieged by a crowd of angry gremlines." Judging by the words of Major Kruta in his address to the medic - a gremlin on page 26 of the first book of gremlins own magic

Types of mestizo

According to some reports, the script has been completed. The film was scheduled to be released in 2011. However, the new information has not been received for a considerable time. It is assumed that the shooting broke. From Facebook Jon Kolfer: “For about ten years we couldn’t start making a film, but it looks like there will be some progress this year: we have a producer and a film script, so we have to find an actor. I think Ace Butterfield will work great. ”

In 2013, it was reported that a film about the adventures of Artemis Fowl will shoot Disney . The film will be based on the first two books (Artemis Fowl, 2001, and The Mission to the Arctic, 2002), written by Michael Goldenberg , who worked on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix . The release date of the film on the screens is not called [4] . In 2017 it became known that the film version will be released on August 9, 2019.
