The link of the judicial system is the totality of the courts with homogeneous powers and equal standing in the judicial system .
The judicial link is a court, or a collection of courts with the same competence, as well as similar composition and structure.
Courts of general jurisdiction
In Russia, the system of courts of general jurisdiction consists of several links:
- justices of the peace (not part of the federal judicial system, but referred to the courts of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation);
- district (city) courts ;
- regional courts (Supreme Court of the republic; regional, regional court; court of a city of federal significance; court of an autonomous region, autonomous district);
- Courts of Appeal of General Jurisdiction [1] ;
- Cassation courts of general jurisdiction [2] ;
Military courts have a three-tier system:
- garrison courts ;
- district (naval) courts ;
- Collegium for military affairs of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation . (often not considered a link, it is a structural unit within the link)
Both courts of general jurisdiction and military courts are informationally integrated by the State Automated System of the Russian Federation “Justice” (GAS “Justice”).
