Tourism in Uganda is one of the sectors of the economy of this country.

General information

Wildlife is the country's main tourist attraction. Tourism infrastructure is developed only in Kampala and other major cities . Tourists need to have a passport, visa and vaccinations against yellow fever and cholera .

In 2000, 191,276 tourists visited Uganda. Revenues to the country's budget from tourism, for 2000, amounted to 149 million US dollars . In 1996, the country had 3,887 rooms with 6,608 beds, 63% of the rooms were occupied.

The US government estimates for 2002 that the daily cost of staying in Kampala is around $ 237. Estimated daily expenses in Entebbe are around $ 164. In other cities of Uganda, costs are significantly lower [1] .
