History
This town over the river. Vilieu is known since the times of Kievan Rus, the first written mention dates back to 1390. Probably, its name comes from the word "Surozh", since the area has been inhabited since ancient times by the Crimean Greeks (Surozh). Nearby, to the north, a Greek monastery appeared in the woods, called Surazhsky .
