History

In 1974 , the "Main Edition of the Tajik Soviet Encyclopedia" was created, which in the same year released the one-volume edition "The Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic." [1] The second, revised edition was published in 1984 in Russian (the editor-in-chief is M. S. Asimov in both editions). [2]

The main volumes were published by the "Main editors of the Tajik Soviet Encyclopedia" in the period 1978 - 1988 . A total of 8 volumes were published. The chief editor was the academician and president of the Academy of Sciences of the Tajik SSR, Mukhamed Sayfitdinovich Asimov [3] (until 1977, the chief editor was Azizi-Meshkin, Mukhamed Aziz).

Contents

The encyclopedia covers almost all areas of knowledge, but in accordance with the Soviet tradition of publishing encyclopedias, the influence of communist ideology is noticeable in the presentation of facts and the details of the presentation of the material.
