Biography
The son of Lieutenant General Mikhail Nikolaevich Ryleyev .
He graduated from the Page Corps , from the pages he was promoted to ensign of the Life Guards of the Preobrazhensky Regiment . He participated in the campaign of the guard to the western borders of the Russian Empire, on the occasion of the Hungarian war. April 19, 1853 promoted to second lieutenant. From February 24, 1854 to March 21, 1855 he was an orderly under the Heir to the Cesarevich, commander of the guard and grenadier corps.
On April 17, 1855 he was appointed adjutant wing, in the same year he was awarded the Order of St. Anna of the 3rd degree, and on August 30 he was promoted to headquarters captain. In the next 1856 he was awarded the expression of the Royal favor and was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 4th degree. On July 1, 1858, he was promoted to captain, in 1859 he was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav of the 2nd degree, and in 1860 he was awarded the expression of the Royal favor.
On August 20, 1860, he was appointed adjutant of the Office of the Imperial Main Apartment: on April 23, 1861, he was promoted to colonel, in 1863 he was awarded the Order of St. Anna of the 2nd degree and in 1865 the Order of St. Vladimir of the 3rd degree. In 1864, on January 1, he was appointed commandant of the Imperial Main Apartment, and he held this position from March 27, 1864 to August 30, 1867.
He was promoted to major general with the appointment of His Majesty's Suite. In 1869 he was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav 1 degree and in 1871 the Order of St. Anna 1 degree.
In 1873 he was appointed adjutant general to His Majesty. On August 30, 1876 he was promoted to lieutenant general with resignation and the rank of adjutant general. In 1877 he was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 2nd degree with a medallion, in 1888 he was awarded the Order of the White Eagle and in 1883 the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky. On August 30, 1890, Ryleyev was promoted to general from infantry, with the rank of Adjutant General.
According to the memoirs of Maurice Paleolog , General Ryleyev was one of the closest confidants of Tsar Alexander the Second and his best man at the wedding with Princess Yuryevskaya .
He died in 1907.
It is excluded from the lists of the deceased (the Highest Order on the ranks of the military on 20.04.1907).
