Geography
According to the US Census Bureau, the statistically isolated area of Calaheo has a total area of 7.8 square kilometers, of which 7.6 km 2 are on land and 0.1 km 2 or 2% are water resources.
Demographics
According to the census for 2000 [4] , 3913 people lived in Calaheo, there were 1,428 households, 1,039 families and 1,509 residential buildings. The average population density was about 512.9 people per square kilometer.
According to the census, the race structure of Calaheo was as follows: 40% White , 0.2% Black or African American , 0.2% Native American , 29.6% Asian , 3.9% Pacific Native, 24, 9% are representatives of mixed races, 1.2% are of other nationalities. Hispanics accounted for 11.5% of the population.
Of 1428 households, 32.2% raised children under the age of 18, 57.8% were married couples living together, in 10.9% of families women lived without husbands, 27.2% did not have a family. 20.2% of the total number of families at the time of the census lived independently, while 9% were single elderly people aged 65 years and older. On average, 2.74 people lead a household, and the average family size is 3.18 people.
The population of Calaheo by age range (2000 census) was distributed as follows: 24.6% - residents under 18 years of age, 7.4% - between 18 and 24 years old, 26% - from 25 to 44 years old, 27.2% - from 45 to 64 years and 14.8% - at the age of 65 years and older. The average age of residents was 40 years. For every 100 females there are 101 males, while for every 100 females 18 years and older, 98.7 males are also older than 18 years.
Economics
The average household income for Calaheo was $ 57,813, and the average household income was $ 63,615. At the same time, men had an average income of $ 40,951 per year, compared to $ 31,477 of the average annual income for women. Per capita income was $ 23,501 per year. 1.5% of the total number of families in the locality and 2.4% of the total population were below the poverty line at the time of the census, with 2.6% of those under the age of 18 and 1.3% of those aged 65 and over.
