Biography
Solomon Grigorievich Mayofis graduated from the Academy of Arts in Leningrad (1940). He authored many residential and public buildings, metro stations, competitive projects, small forms and large urban projects in Leningrad .
He died in Leningrad in 1968. He was buried at the Theological Cemetery [1] .
Selected Projects and Buildings in Leningrad
- Complexes and ensembles in Avtovo : quarters at the intersection of Krasnoputilovskaya and Avtovskaya streets, Komsomolskaya Square with its surroundings (together with V.A. Kamensky , A.V. Zhuk and N.Z. Matusevich , 1950-1960)
- Planning and development of Dachnoye (together with V.A. Kamensky , A.V. Zhuk and N.Z. Matusevich and T.V. Nikolaev, 1961-1969)
- Planning and development of Ulyanka - with 12-story tower houses at the intersection of Veterans Avenue and III International Street (together with T.V. Nikolaev, 1960s)
- Walk of Fame - part of the Kirovsky Val memorial in the Green Belt of Glory complex - Marshal Zhukov Avenue
- Pioneer Square project on the site of the hippodrome (early 1960s)
- Metro stations Nevsky Prospect , Moskovskaya , Chernyshevskaya (as part of the team)
