He studied piano at the Estonian composer E. Kapp . He worked in the pop-music group in Tartu ( 1951 ), in the dance orchestra of the Riga Teacher's House ( 1956 - 1964 ) [1] .
At the beginning of his career in 1959 in Riga, he performed as a singer on the stage, the lead singer of the big band p / u Ivara Mazur, one of the first performers of American jazz standards in swing style in the USSR. In Estonia, unsuccessfully tried his hand as an entrepreneur. In the end, he became a teacher in one of the cultural centers of Tartu. In 1998, he suffered a serious stroke and died on October 9, 2002 in Tartu. He was married four times.
Laureate of the USSR State Prize in 1967 for the role of Bronius in the film directed by Vytautas Zhalakyavichyus "Nobody wanted to die . "
The author of the book of memoirs "Przepraszam, czy pan jest aktorem?" which was published in 1977 in Polish in one of the Wroclaw publishers, and in 1978 in Finland in Finnish "Anteeksi, oletteko näyttelijä?"
