Located 4 kilometers from Atwoter [2] , height - 54 m [1] . According to the 2010 census, 10,613 people lived in the area (in 2000 there were 8,832).

In the area is the Wagon Wheel Bar , which for a long time was the gathering place of the Hell's Angels . In the 1970s, Vinton was mentioned as the most criminal place among cities of his size in The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson .
The local police station was opened in 1912 [2] , and the name of the locality was given in honor of the explorer of these territories, JE Winton [2] .
