History
The company was founded in 1993 .
In 1998, Fjord Line bought the vessel Jupiter and the line Bergen - Newcastle from the Color Line .
In 2004 , for its Danish-Norwegian line, the operator purchased the ferry Fjord Norway . Bergen ferry has been paid to the company DFDS .
In 2005, operations began on the line between Norway and Denmark. Line Bergen — Newcastle was sold to DFDS. Bergen ferry was returned from freight. The ferry Jupiter was put up for sale. In the same year, the company suffered heavy financial losses. The cause of the crisis was a new low-cost route opened by the shipping giant - Color Line and the expansion of low-cost airlines . Fjord Line accused the Color Line of dumping and actions to deliberately work at a loss to crush small competitors. In the same summer, Fjord Line filed a complaint with the anti-monopoly authority, which began reviewing the issue [1] .
In 2008 , Fjord Line merged with the operator of high-speed ferry communication - Master Ferries [2] .
Routes
Today the company has two shipping lines between Norway and Denmark.
