The place of a tree in Komi mythology
The Komi lobpa tree was called an alder because of the red color under its bark, which symbolized the blood of a dead person [2] .
The power of Lovpu, according to the Komi mythology, was determined by the fact that even powerful sorcerers were powerless against it. Lovpu inspired fear in them: with a bullet made of it, they could inflict a mortal wound on a sorcerer , invulnerable to other weapons. A deceased sorcerer could no longer come to life if a wedge of alder was driven into his anus [3] .
Alder Fob
In the Komi fairy tales , there is a plot on the topic of cleansing from peugeot - filth. Actors: an old man (according to some sources - a saint, according to others - a sorcerer) and a girl, the daughter of a sorcerer or unclean forces. While the old man hits the girl with an alder rod, various creatures of the chthonic world emerge from her womb: insects , snakes , lizards , after which she becomes clean [3] .
In order for the lappu to point to the killer, a pipe or horn should be made of its wood [2] .
