The Institute of Strategy and Theory of Education is the leading theoretical institution within the Russian Academy of Education , which conducts fundamental research on the most promising pedagogical and interdisciplinary topics, embracing the basic parts of continuing education due to its invariance and generality. This recognizes the importance of the practice-oriented orientation of the problems being developed, the use of the results of basic research at different levels of educational practice.
Content
History
In accordance with the Resolution of the Council of People's Commissars of the RSFSR of February 14, 1944 N 138 and the Charter of the RSFSR APS, the Research Institute of Theory and History of Pedagogy was established as one of the first research institutions established in 1943 by the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences. In 1970, he was reorganized into the Institute of General Teachers. Later, it changed its name, once again became the Research Institute of Theory and History of Pedagogy, then the Institute of Theoretical Pedagogy and International Educational Research, the Institute of Theory of Education and Pedagogy, and since 2004 the Institute of Theory and History of Pedagogy of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Prominent scientists and teachers worked at the Institute: Danilov M. A., Zankov L. V., Skatkin M. N. , Zhurakovsky G. E. P. Atutov, N. M. Shakhmayev, I. Ya. Lerner. The Institute was headed at different stages of its work: I. Svadkovsky , N. A. Konstantinov, N. A. Petrov, B. P. Esipov, Arsenyev A.M., Korolev F.F., Kondakov M.I., Piskunov A.I. , Ilina T.A., Malkova Z.A., Gershunsky B.S., Dodonov V.I.
On April 1, 2015, the Institute of Theory and History of Pedagogy, consisting of 5 institutions of RAO, was reorganized into the Institute of Strategy for the Development of Education in RAO.

Deposit Service
The scientific deposit service at the ITIP RW is the only branch in the Russian Federation to deposit manuscripts on pedagogy and psychology. Depositing (transfer for storage) is a special type of publication of scientific works (articles, reviews, monographs, collections of scientific works, materials of scientific events - conferences, symposia, congresses, seminars) of a highly specialized profile, allowed in the established order for open publication, which is not advisable to publish method of printing, as well as works, information about which is necessary for the approval of their priority. At the same time, the author reserves the right to publish materials of the deposited works in scientific journals with notification to the publishing organization (publishing house, journal editorial board, etc.) about the deposit of the manuscript in the ITIP RAO. Depositing involves receiving, recording, registering, storing scientific papers, issuing a certificate of depositing manuscripts, and posting information about them in the Abstract Manuscript Collections on Pedagogy and Education ITIP RAO
