The length is 162 km [2] , the catchment area is 4620 km² [2] .
The source of the river is located on the southern slope of the Dzhugdyr Range . It flows in a southwest direction along the territory of Zeya district [3] . It flows into Zeya 1073 km from its mouth.
In the middle course, the width of the river is 40–55 meters, the depth is 0.6–1.8 m, and the current velocity is 1.0 m / s [4] . In the lower reaches, the width is about 90 m, the depth is 0.8 m, the current velocity is 1.3 m / s, and the bottom is solid [5] .
Name Origin
There is a large number of interpretations of the name of the river from the Evenki language : kupur - a place, surrounded on all sides by rocks, stuffy; or from Kapula-Mosigi - thicket; kupuri - winter fur boots; winter caravan routes of Evenki passed along the river banks, where there were traces of this type of shoe.
