Pskhuvtsy is one of the sub-ethnos of the Abkhazians , in the past a small Abkhaz tribe [1] , which has been fixed since the 17th century [2] .

General Information
Pskhuvtsy speak their dialect of the Abkhaz language [1] .
The name is from the name of the alpine village of Pskhu, in the upper reaches of the river Bzyp (Bzyb) , where they all lived before the beginning of their Muhajirism , or rather, until 1864 [1] .
Currently reside in the Abkhaz diaspora in Turkey, as well as in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic [1] .
In the Adyghe-Abkhaz diaspora living in Turkey, pskhuvtsy belong to the subgroup "Apsua", the same includes Abzhuis , Abzhakvintsy , Tsabaltsy , sadzi , tsvidzhi and ahchipsy . All of them speak close dialects of the Abkhazian language and have a single identity [3] .
