Plotnikov, Sergey Sergeevich

Sergey Sergeevich Plotnikov (born June 3, 1990 , Komsomolsk-on-Amur , Khabarovsk Territory , the RSFSR, USSR) is a Russian hockey player and striker . He is currently a player in the SKA hockey club ( St. Petersburg ). Before Plotnikov played in the KHL for the Khabarovsk Amur and Yaroslavl Lokomotiv, as well as in the clubs of the National Hockey League Pittsburgh Penguins and Arizona Coyotes .

Career

Player of the Russian national team, gold, silver and double bronze medalist of the world championships. KHL bronze medalist in the 2013/14 season. Gagarin Cup winner and champion of Russia in the 2016/17 season. KHL bronze medalist in the 2017/18 season. Honored Master of Sports.

The first coach of Sergei was Fedorok Vladimir Mikhailovich. He started his playing career in Khabarovsk, where he played in the Amur system. He scored his first goal for Amur on October 18, 2009 in a game with Dynamo Riga. In his debut season, Sergey played 43 matches and scored 12 points. In 2012 he moved to Lokomotiv, where he spent three years. He spent the 2015/16 season in the NHL, where he played for Pittsburgh and Arizona. In the summer of 2016, he became a SKA player. As part of the army at the end of the 2016/17 season, he became the champion of Russia and the owner of the Gagarin Cup. [one]

According to the decision of the IOC, he was deprived of the right to speak at the Olympics in Pyeongchang in 2018 due to suspicions of doping.

On May 30, 2018, he signed a four-year contract with SKA. [1] Before the season 2019/2020 he was chosen as the team captain.
