Description
Wheeled-tracked tank is the original, experimental development of Straussler. All wheels are mounted on a common frame consisting of several sections (each wheel has its own independent suspension). Guides and driving wheels are lowered on soil for the best coupling with a basic surface. There are two supporting rollers on each side. Reservations range from 23 mm (front) to 9 mm (feed). Armed with a 40mm 37M gun, two Gebauer machine guns. 160 hp Weiss Manfréd V-OHC 6-cylinder engine allows you to reach speeds of up to 32 km / h on the ground and up to 45 km / h on the highway.
History
The predecessor is the tank V-3 , which was built in 1934 and was tested in 1935, but did not satisfy the military. In 1937, the V-4 version was adopted for testing, which was a more complete sample of a light wheeled / tracked tank. Together with samples of the Pz Kpfw I and Landsverk L-60 tanks, the combat vehicle took part in the competition announced by the Hungarian army in 1937. Despite the positive opinion of the military regarding driving performance, the winner was the L-60 due to its simpler design. In total, the firm Straussler built a total of 4 tanks, three of which were used for various kinds of tests and demonstrations abroad. There are unconfirmed reports that one V-4 was tested in the USSR.
