Creativity and Criticism

The site " New Map of Russian Literature " in 2010 wrote about Irina Karenina:

... Irina Karenina (Nizhny Tagil), clearly juggling with a variety of style decisions in the spirit of traditional "female" lyrics [7] .

The poetess herself about the origins of her poetry and, at the same time, about the misunderstanding by critics emotionally expressed in her blog in LiveJournal :

Someone will someday explain to me why you gentlemen philologists <...> so persistently look for either Tsvetaeva or Yesenin in me, but not one of you <...> sees Parnok (who is more than just present), Tarkovsky , Gubanova - of what I really grow from? Because you - these authors - have not read, maybe? Allowed yourself not to read? <...> What terribly annoys me is that - well, you are looking for influences, so you already find them! Those that are, and not which seem to you! The labels are annoying: “feminine” - aaa, this is Akhmatovschina !, Emotions or, God forbid, folklore - aaaa, this is Tsvetaevschina ! If there is a tavern and vodka - aaaa, yeseninschina!, Well, etc. <...> And so they have three of these named - the most popular. For some reason they are not looking for Georgiyivanovschina — but I have just enough of it. Khodasevich - they do not see him point blank, but his identity is pretty good. About Mandelstam, I generally keep quiet. But after all, nowadays, they have also attributed Voznesensky to me! [eight]

Literary critic Kirill Ankudinov calls the poetic work of Irina Karenina "literary" that "infuriates him":

... Literature - the beginning is flow-type, common for many - in images, intonations, feelings; Literature - a design that replaces living creativity. When Irina Karenina writes: “I am a paper crane, an absurd, weak bird” - this is literary, as thousands of poetesses could put it this way [9] .

At the XI Forum of young writers of Russia, the CIS countries and abroad in the Lipki boarding house near Moscow in 2011, Irina Karenina publicly formulated her definition of literature:

Literature is a commune , a micro ghetto , a subculture . There are emo , goths - and writers. No difference [10] .
