Catholic University of Pazerman ( Hungarian. Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetem ) is a non-governmental Catholic university in Hungary . Various faculties of the university are located in Budapest , Pilishchab and Esztergom . The university was founded in 1635 , bears the name of its founder, Cardinal Peter Pazman . Also known as Pasmanaeum . In 2009, the university consisted of 736 teachers and 9,469 students [1] . Over the years, the university graduated from about 26 thousand people.

History
Budapest University and the Catholic University of Peter Pasman share a common history. On May 12, 1635, Cardinal Peter Pazman signed a decree establishing a university in the city of Nadsombat (modern Trnava , Slovakia ) with two faculties - liberal arts and theology . Subsequently, a number of faculties were opened. In 1777, the university from Trnava was transferred to Buda , and in 1784 to Pest . Until 1844, teaching at the university was conducted in Latin . Since 1895, women were given the opportunity to study at the university. In 1950, the Faculty of Theology was allocated to the Peter Pazman Catholic University, other faculties remained part of the University of Budapest .
Until 1992, Peter Pazman University consisted only of the Faculty of Theology, other Pazmaneum faculties were founded in the late XX - early XXI centuries. The Faculty of Humanities was opened in 1992, the Faculty of Law and Political Disciplines in 1995, the Faculty of Information Technology in 1998 [2] . In 2008, the University of Pedagogy, which included the Faculty of Pedagogy, was founded in 1842 by Janos Vitez Pedagogical College [2] .
Structure
The Catholic Institute of Peter Pazman includes 5 faculties , the Institute of Canon Law , several laboratories and research centers.
- Faculty of Theology (Budapest)
- Faculty of Humanities (Pilishchaba). The faculty buildings were built in the 90s of the XX century on the site of the former barracks of the Soviet army in an original modern style. The architect is Imre Makovec .
- Faculty of Law and Political Disciplines (Budapest)
- Faculty of Information Technology (Budapest)
- Faculty of Education named after Janos Vitez (Esztergom)
The Institute of Canon Law is intended for graduate students - university graduates. It was founded in 1996 by a decree of the Holy See . Located in Budapest.
The rector of the university is Dr. Sabolch Suromi, the president is the prima of Hungary , Cardinal Peter Erde .
