Medemblik ( Dutch: Medemblik ) is a city and community in the Dutch province of North Holland . Located north of Amsterdam . The area of the community is 270.61 km², of which 135.35 km² is land. The population as of January 1, 2007 is 41,500 people. The average population density is 153.4 people / km².

The city is known among sailing enthusiasts in connection with the events taking place in it in this area. In addition, there is a very picturesque inner city with buildings of the XVII and XVIII centuries, two large churches, an old orphanage, town hall and, of course, the castle of Radbaut, located on the border of the inner city.
