The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (Malaysia) is responsible for developing policies to achieve the goals of gender equality, family development and socially oriented society, in accordance with Malaysia's obligations to the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and the Beijing Declaration.

History
Since the Fourth World Conference on Women, organized by the United Nations in Beijing in 1995, efforts have been made to establish an office at the cabinet level to assist the Government of Malaysia in realizing its desire to enhance the status of women.
The Ministry was officially established on January 17, 2001 as the Ministry of Women's Affairs. The name was changed to the Ministry of Women's Affairs and Family Development on February 15, 2001. The Ministry acquired its current name on March 27, 2004.
