Vladimir Alekseevich Tsurikov ( May 30, 1970 , Plattsburgh , New York , USA ) - clergyman of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia , archpriest , literary critic , historian of the Russian diaspora, dean of the Holy Trinity Theological Seminary [1] .

Biography

Born May 30, 1970 in the city of Plattsburgh , in the state of New York , in the United States in a Slavic family. Grandson of a publicist and public figure Nikolai Tsurikov [2] . He spent his childhood in Germany .

In 1988, he returned to the United States and entered Holy Trinity Theological Seminary in Jordanville , [3] which he graduated in 1993 with a bachelor of theology [4] .

In 1991, Bishop Hilarion (Corporal) was tonsured a reader and subdeacon [4] .

In 1993, he was ordained deacon .

In 2000, he received a master 's degree in Russian language and literature at Middlebury College . He continued his postgraduate studies at the University of Albany for a doctorate in humanities.

Since September 1996, he is a teacher and administrative secretary of Holy Trinity Theological Seminary [3] , and since 2001 (according to other sources, since 2004) he has been deputy dean of semeria.

In May 2006, he was a delegate to the IV All-Diaspora Council of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Holy Trinity Theological Seminary. Member of the Russian noble society.

On September 4, 2008, by the decision of the Synod of Bishops, the ROCOR appointed Dean of the Holy Trinity Theological Seminary [3] [5] , as well as the head of the library and archive [3] ( Eng. Director of Archives and Library Services ). He taught in the seminary Church Slavonic language .

May 30, 2010 at Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville, Metropolitan of Eastern America and New York was ordained a priest [4] .

On October 12, 2010, the Department of Church History of the Moscow Theological Academy successfully pre-defended his Ph.D. thesis “Archive of Holy Trinity Theological Seminary (Jordanville, USA) as a Source for Studying the History of the Russian Church of the 20th Century” [6] .

Vladimir Alekseevich Tsurikov - literary critic, historian. Engaged in research in the history of the Russian diaspora and its literature. The author of a number of articles on the work of his grandfather - N. A. Tsurikova. [2] .
He is the editor of the American edition of the first volume of the works of Metropolitan of Moscow Filaret (1787-1867) in English. Studies were awarded a scholarship from the Russian Orthodox Theological Foundation (five times) and the Kulaev Foundation (two times).
