Honorary Doctor of Paris ( Pantheon-Sorbonne ) and Budapest Universities. Laureate of the USSR State Prize (1987). Honored Scientist of the RSFSR (1972). Member of the CPSU since 1939.
Content
Biography
In 1928 he graduated from the Forest College. He graduated from the Moscow Law Institute , where he studied in 1932-1935, then in graduate school there.
After graduating from graduate school, he did not work for long in the People's Commissariat of the Navy of the USSR , then from January 1939 he worked at the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR , then from October 1939 to 1965 he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR , where in 1952-1965 he headed the Legal Department.
In 1957-1966 he was a member of the UN International Law Commission . Founder in 1957 and until his death, chairman of the Soviet Association of International Law [1] .
In 1938 he defended his thesis “Parliamentary Reform of 1832 in England” (Moscow Law Institute).
In 1954 he defended his doctoral dissertation, “The Korean Problem after the Second World War in the Light of International Law”.
He taught at the Moscow Institute of Law (where he headed the department of theory and history of state and law), Moscow State University, the Higher Diplomatic School (where he headed the department of legal sciences), Moscow Institute of International Relations. Among his students, Lev Shestakov and others, who replaced him as head of the department at Moscow State University, were among them.
From the fall of 1965 until his death, he headed the department of international law at Moscow State University .
He was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery (site 3) [2] .
