He first made his name on the international scene in 1999 , when he finished third in the Amsterdam marathon with a score of 2: 06.50. He took part in the 2005 World Cup , but could not finish. At the 2007 World Cup, he finished the marathon distance in 8th place. Over the course of his sports career, he won 2 prestigious marathons: the Rotterdam marathon in 2003 - 2: 07.42, the Seoul marathon JoongAng in 2005 - 2: 08.27.
