Bruno Kalniньš ( Latvian: Bruno Kalniņš ; May 7, 1899, Tukums - March 26, 1990, Stockholm ) - Latvian Social Democratic politician, publicist and historian. The son of prominent Social Democrats Klara and Pauls Kalnins .

One of the leaders of the LSDLP (member of the Central Committee) and key figures in the youth left movement in interwar Latvia. Editor Ziņotājs, Darba Jaunatne, Latvijas Sociāldemokrātiskās Strādnieku Partijas CK Ziņotājs, Strādnieku Sports, Latvijas Strādnieku Sports and Strādnieku Sports un Sargs. Member of the National Council of Latvia . Member of all pre-war convocations of the Sejm of Latvia . After the coup, Karlis Ulmanis was arrested and deported from the country.
In July 1940 he returned to Latvia from Sweden after the expulsion of K. Ulmanis during the authoritarian rule; was the head of the political department of the People’s Army of Latvia from July to September 1940 [1] . During the Nazi occupation, he was arrested and sent to a concentration camp, from where he was released in 1944. After World War II, he again emigrated to Sweden, honorary chairman of the Socialist International [2] , author of books on the history of Russia and the Baltic countries.
