Libya is a river in Russia, flows in the Demyansk and Valdai districts of the Novgorod region [2] . It flows into the lake Shlino . The river is connected by the Velievsky Canal to Lake Velho , from which water flows through the Libya into the Vyshnevolotsky water system . The length of Libya with the Vel'evsky Canal is 14 km [3] .

In 1993-1998, the FSUE Moscow Canal was cleared by the Vel'yevskaya (Vel'yevsky) canal and the Vel'yevskaya dam was replaced from wooden to reinforced concrete [4] . In December 1999, the arbitration court ordered FSUE Moscow Canal to stop the reconstruction and operation of the Veliev dam [5] .
In the Demyansky district, on the right bank of the river, stands the village of Ovinchishche, Polnovsky rural settlement (former Dubrovsky rural settlement ).
In Valdai district, the river flows through the territory of the Edrovsky rural settlement . Near the river are the villages of Markovo and Semenova Gora (at the mouth).
