Biography
Warren William Krek was born December 2, 1894 in the city of Aitkin ( Minnesota ). He had a strong resemblance to the famous actor John Barrymore , which partly influenced the choice of his career. He studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts ( American Academy of Dramatic Arts ). In 1931, he left Broadway and moved to Hollywood . He bore the nickname "King of Pre-Code Hollywood ." His role was various immoral businessmen, lawyers and other "heartless personalities", including Sam Spade .
The first (in 1934) on the wide screen played the role of Perry Mason in the film versions of Earl Stanley Gardner 's works.
In 1923 he married Helen Barbara Nelson, a woman seventeen years older than him, but who nevertheless survived him. Warren William died September 24, 1948 at the 54th year of life from myeloma .
He was awarded the star ( 1559 Vine Street ) on the Hollywood Walk of Fame [4] .
