Biography

Manuel Mahat was born April 18, 1984 in a place called Ramsau, near Berchtesgaden , he graduated from high school there. After school, he went to serve in the German army, where he became a member of a sports group, purposefully began to engage in bobsleigh. In those years he became the champion of Germany among juniors, both in the competitions of twos and fours, in 2006 he won the youth world championship, acting as a pilot, led his crew of four to gold medals. In November, he made his debut in the adult team, taking part in the European Cup, came first at the stage in Königssee, and in 2007 - at the stage in Eagles.

After the Olympics in Vancouver, the titled German pilot Andre Lange completed his career, and in addition, Mattias Hopfner left the sport, who missed the Games in Canada due to injury. Thus, the path for Mahata to the World Cup was opened. At the first stages, speaking with overclocking Andreas Bredau , he made his debut very successfully, won gold in doubles and bronze in fours. The most successful season of his career was the 2010/11 season, during which Mahata became the world and European champion, and also took two World Cups, for competitions of fours and mixed teams. At the 2012 World Championships in the American Lake Placid, he won the four in bronze.

In 2014, he is going to go to the Olympic Games in Sochi [1] .
