Creation History
The D-68 gun was developed at OKB-9 at the Sverdlovsk Artillery Plant No. 9 for the T-64 medium tank . Adopted in 1961 [1] [2] .
Design Description
The main difference between the 2A21 and 2A20 guns was the introduction of a separate-shell loading. The main components of 2A21 were: the trunk, which consisted of a 52.6-gauge pipe, which was fastened with a casing in the chamber part, a breech and an ejector . The gun used a horizontal wedge bolt and a semi-automatic rolling type. The trigger mechanism consisted of a mechanical descent with an electrozapalny device. The descent mechanisms were located on the left side of the fence. Electrozapal was carried out by pressing the stabilizer button or the backup button on the handle of the lifting mechanism. The receiver group was mounted in a cradle of a hollow type, the design of which was cast halves welded together. Downstairs in the cradle tides were fixed the rods of hydraulic recoil devices and a hydropneumatic recuperator. The maximum length of the recoil of the gun during firing was 320 mm [3] .
