Sayings about the composer's work
“Victor Pleshak ... is a composer who successfully works in his specialty, whose work is widely used by the country's musical practice.” ( Boris Tishchenko )
“Acquaintance with the works of Viktor Vasilyevich Pleshak allows judging him as a composer who relies on a solid professional foundation and who knows how to build on this foundation not only typical musical constructions. Almost extremely wide spectrum of his genre interests attracts attention, stretching from popular songs to conceptual symphonic forms. It is gratifying, at the same time, that the composer’s many years of work in popular and applied genres has not dulled, as sometimes happens, his sense of responsibility for his major problematic compositions. ” ( Gennady Banshchikov )
“I know Viktor Pleshak for a very long time. He immediately surprised me by the seriousness of the attitude to the song as a genre. Knowing how to listen to the life around him, he quickly found his individual intonation and carries it through his entire creative life. He sings his song. ” ( Igor Tsvetkov )
“... The composer V.V. Pleshaku songs on a civil theme: “But still marches”, “The crew - one family”, “Cities - cities”, and “Victory Parade” and many others ... ”; “... On the“ Leningrad Springs ”his songs are sure to sound. They are the public domain of our city ... ”; “Another area in which Victor Pleshak is a recognized master is music for the theater. Here and operetta, and musicals, and compositions for children. At such a difficult time for the implementation of theatrical productions, works by Pleshak were staged and continue to be staged in the theaters of St. Petersburg, Moscow, Krasnoyarsk, etc. ” ( Andrey Pavlovich Petrov )
“The professionalism, versatility and theatricality of V. V. Pleshak’s music clearly manifested themselves in the work on the productions of our theater, in which musical performances traditionally occupy an important place ...“ How to draw a bird ”,“ Man, animal and virtue ”,“ Mother ”, “Peace to your home”, “Talents and admirers”, “Kuss of the KGB”, “Double-headed eagle”, “Puss in Boots” ... Many of these performances, being successful with the public, went more than 100 times, went on tour in Russia and countries of near and far abroad ". (Artistic director of the Lensovet Theater Vladislav Pazi )
“The composer’s musical palette is diverse: his music is always in line with the artistic intent of the playwright and the director, always original and good.” (Artistic director of the theater Buff Isaac Shtokbant )
“Victor Pleshak is rightfully considered one of the most repertory domestic theater composers. His works have long been included in the programs of many theaters in the country. By the number of performances among the performances of Viktor Pleshak, the musicals are “Sweet Sinners”, “Knight's Passions” (or “Love Remedy”) and “Incognito from St. Petersburg”. The musical theater of Victor Pleschak is distinguished by bright genre colors and intriguing plot twists. Thanks to this, Pleshak's music is always in the interest of listeners, and his theatrical compositions are fertile ground for performers: for his roles in performances, the actors were repeatedly awarded prizes at numerous competitions and festivals, and the Incognito from Petersburg musical staged by the Krasnoyarsk Theater of Musical Comedy received the prestigious national theatrical award "Golden Mask". (From the booklet of the Ist All-Russian Festival of Theater Projects “New Shores”)
“Operetta is not operetta; vaudeville - not vaudeville; a farce is not a farce — the devil knows what it is, but only very professional, musical and funny. ” (Theater critic A. Vladimirskaya. From a review of the performance of the St. Petersburg Theater of the Musical Comedy "Oh, these lovely sinners")
“Legacy” - the musical is truly wonderful. Youth in content, spirit and composition of performers, he turned out to be easy without lightness, funny without playfulness and with humor without vulgarity. The tempo and rhythms of Victor Pleschak’s musical naturally naturally reflected the dynamics of modern life. ” (Music critic Lyudmila Petrova. From a review of the play of the St. Petersburg pop-musical theater "Draw")
“... Composer V. Pleshak, like the famous showman, turns the procession of recognizable masks into a musical kaleidoscope of brilliant benefit performance. In the new work of the Petersburg author, the heroes of the immortal Gogol's "Inspector" spoke in intonations and rhythms, close to today's audience ... ". ) Music critic Elena Yezerskaya. From the review of the play "Incognito from St. Petersburg" of the Krasnoyarsk Theater of Musical Comedy)
“In recent years, stereotypes caused by the exploitation of techniques tested in numerous television series and cartoons began to take shape in a musical theater for children, trying to“ modernize ”famous fairy tale characters by all means. The music of Victor Pleschak in this respect is a pleasant exception. It is melodic, it has a lot of lyrics and sparkling fun. This music is simple for perception, and at the same time it cannot be called simplified. The musical numbers in the performance are organically linked with the stage action, they are its logical continuation. To the performance of the Odessa operetta, in our opinion, the definition of “living” most precisely fits. I want to believe that the new “Kot in boots” is destined to long-term life on the stage and in the hearts of young viewers. ” (Music critic Roman Brodavko. From a review of the play "Mr. Cat" of the Odessa Theater of Musical Comedy)
“Today your name is well known to music lovers. Your works - whether songs or musicals, music for films and performances - are inherent in such valuable and worthy qualities as mature compositional professionalism, relief of thematism, appeal to a wide audience of listeners, a pronounced lyrical beginning, kindness and humor. These properties find a response in the soul of the listeners, which provides many of your works with a long and happy creative life. Purposefully and fruitfully working in the field of music of so-called democratic genres, you have made a valuable contribution to this important area of musical creativity. A serious and searching artist, you use the well-deserved authority of your colleagues, and your personal qualities have earned the respect of everyone who knows you. ” Board of the St. Petersburg branch of the Union of Composers of Russia . from the anniversary address)
