Otradnensky district is a municipality in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation . The administrative center of the district is the village of Otradnaya .

Geography
The district is located in the southeast of the region, bordering: in the east - with the Stavropol Territory , in the south - with Karachay-Cherkessia , in the north and west - with the Novokubansky , Labinsky and Uspensky districts of the Krasnodar Territory . The total area of the district is 245 208 ha.
History
The district was formed on June 2, 1924 as part of the Armavir District of the Southeast Region . It included part of the territory of the abolished Labinsky department of the Kuban-Black Sea region . Initially, the district included 10 village councils: Malotenginsky , Nadezhnynsky , Otradnensky , Peredovsky , Podgornensky , Poputnysky , Pregradnysky, Spokoynensky , Spokynosinyukhinsky, Udobnyensky .
From November 16, 1924, the district was part of the North Caucasus Territory , and from January 10, 1934 - as part of the Azov-Black Sea Territory .
July 10, 1931 by the Decree of the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee the Batalpashinsky District was abolished. At the same time, the Ispravnensky and Frolovsky village councils were transferred to the Otradnensky district of the North Caucasus region [4] .
On December 31, 1934, as a result of disaggregation , the following were allocated from the territory of the district: Spokojnensky and Udobnensky areas .
On September 13, 1937, the Otradnensky district was part of the Krasnodar Territory .
On August 22, 1953, the Convenient district was completely transferred to the Otradnensky district .
On April 28, 1962, the Spokoynensky District was also completely transferred to the Otradnensky District .
On February 1, 1963, the Otradnensky rural district was formed [5] .
In 1993, the activity of the village Soviets was terminated; the territories of the village administrations were transformed into rural districts.
In 2005, administrations of rural districts were liquidated in the district and 14 rural settlements were formed .

The population of the region as of 01.01.2006 was 65,318 people, all of them are rural residents. Among the entire population, men make up 47.3%, women 52.7%. The female population of fertile age is 16132 people (46.8% of the total number of women). Children from 0 to 17 years old - 14,238 people (21.8% of the total population), adults - 51080 people (78.2%). In the total population, 37696 (57.7%) are people of working age, 23.9% are pensioners. Economics
In the Otradnensky region there are 186,600 hectares of agricultural land, including 96,200 hectares of arable land. The further development of the agro-industrial complex of the region seems mainly in increasing the efficiency of management, optimizing quality indicators (productivity) at enterprises of all forms of ownership of both the public sector, peasant farms and private household plots .
The industrial potential of the region consists mainly of medium and small industrial producers, focused on the production of furniture, the provision of utilities and the processing of agricultural products.

- Mordyukova, Nonna Viktorovna - the great Soviet film actress , People's Artist of the USSR . In 1942 - 1943, during the years of fascist occupation, she hid in the Trubolet ( Novo-Urupsky ) farm of the Otradnensky District, and in 1943 - 1944 she lived with her family in Otradnaya [22] .
