Geography
Creange Castle Ruins
Creange is located 31 km east of Metz near the center of the Volkemon canton. Neighboring communes: Tritten-Redlash in the northeast, Folkemon in the southeast, Elvange and Flatrange in the west.
The city stands on the river Nid . Two historically formed parts of the city are distinguished: “villa” (village) in the southern part and “city” (city) in the northern.
History
- Creange was the seat of the lord, later the county of de Creange in the XII-XVIII centuries. In the XIII century , a castle was built here, the ruins of which remained to our time.
- County Creange was part of the Holy Roman Empire and only in 1793, after the French Revolution, by decree of the National Convention became French territory.

According to the 2008 census, 3,977 people lived in the commune.
