Biography
Alexey Iosifovich Makarenko was born on May 16, 1920 in the village of Petrovskoye (now the city of Svetlograd ) of the Stavropol Territory to a working family. Member of the CPSU since 1944. He lived in the village of Belorechensk . In 1936 he came to permanent residence in Maykop. He graduated from 7 classes. In 1937, he entered the Maikop Aeroclub named after M. Gromov , where future Heroes-Maikopans studied: Shevkunov Anatoly , Shikunov Fyodor , Nagulyan Martiros ... He worked as an instructor and planner-technician at the Maikop Aeroclub.
In the army since December 1939. He graduated from the Taganrog in 1941, and in 1943 the Kirovabad military aviation school of pilots. In the army since May 15, 1943. He fought as a senior pilot, commander of a flight of bombers on the Voronezh , Stepnoy , 2nd Ukrainian , 1st Ukrainian fronts .
Feat
The commander of the level of the 160th Guards Bomber Aviation Regiment of the 8th Guards Bomber Aviation Division of the 6th Guards Bomber Aviation Corps ( 2nd Air Army , 1st Ukrainian Front ) Guards Senior Lieutenant Makarenko made 161 successful combat missions by May 1945 bombardment of railway stations, echelons, concentrations of enemy troops, causing him considerable damage.
The title Hero of the Soviet Union was awarded by decree of the PAS of the USSR of 06.26.1945.
Until 1966, Major Alexei Makarenko continued to serve in the army. He lived and worked in Volgograd , and then in Krasnodar . He died on November 24, 1991. He was buried in Volgograd at the cemetery of Krasnoarmeysky district.
