Bagirmi is one of the Bongo-Bagirmi languages belonging to the Central Sudanese family of the Nilo-Saharan macro-family. Distributed in the southwestern part of Chad , in the Shari-Bagirmi region . There are also a number of carriers in Nigeria. The total number of carriers is 44,800. There are several dialects, among them a goal, a kibar, a bangri, a lady. Chad dialect of the Arabic language is also widespread among Bagirmi speakers.
