Middle Estate

The boundaries of Sredmestye are defined as follows: railway tracks along the street. Słominsky (ul. Słomińskiego), alley of John Paul II (al. Jana Pawła II), alley of Independence (al. Niepodległości), ul. Stefana Batoria (ul. Stefana Batorego), Spazerova St. Spazerovaya (ul. Spacerowa), st. Gagarina (ul. Gagarina), st. Podhorunzhih (ul. Podchorążych), st. Novoseleckaya (ul. Nowosielecka) and the fairway of the Vistula .

The architectural dominant of Sredmestye is the Palace of Culture and Science , donated by the USSR in the 1950s. This building has a height of 231 m; from its observation platform, the panorama of Warsaw is clearly visible. At the foot of this palace is the so-called “stick” (patyk) (zero kilometer ), from which all distances from Warsaw are considered.
