Career
In the World Cup, Isomes debuted in 1990 , in March 1996, won the first victory at the World Cup stage. In total, in personal races he has 4 victories at the World Cup stages. The best achievement in the overall final standings of the World Cup is 2nd place in the 1999/00 season.
At the 1992 Olympics in Albertville , he won bronze in the relay, also ranked 16th in the 10 km classic race, 12th in the pursuit race and 22nd in the 50 km skate race.
At the 1994 Olympics in Lillehammer , he again won bronze in the relay and also took 6th place in the 30 km skating race and 23rd place in the 10 km race classics.
At the 1998 Olympics in Nagano , he won his third Olympic medal in his career, and again it became bronze in the relay, besides, he was the 8th in the pursuit race, the 4th in the 30 km classic and 15th in the race 10 km classics.
During his career, he took part in five world championships , in which he won two silver and two bronze medals. At the 2001 World Championships in Lahti, he became one of six Finnish skiers found guilty of doping , as a result of which he was deprived of the silver medal he won at this championship and suspended for two years.
