Tagir Khuryugsky , his real name is Alimov ( Lezg. Khurug Tagyr [1] ; June 22, 1893 , Khryug , Dagestan region , Russian Empire - February 23, 1958 , Akhty , Dagestan ASSR , USSR ) - Lezgi poet. People's poet of Dagestan.

Tagir Khuryugsky was born in 1893 in the village of Khuryug (now Khryug , Akhtynsky district of Dagestan ) into a peasant family. He studied at the Nuha school for two years. In his youth he wandered a lot in search of earnings. In Soviet times, he became a participant in the creation of collective farms, and then a worker in the cultural sphere. In 1936-1937 he headed the Lezgi Theater named after S. Stalsky . In 1952-1958 he was a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR .

As a child, Tagir Khuryugsky composed poetry in the traditional manner of ashugs . In Soviet times, he wrote the poems “The Village of Gyugez”, “The Air Bogatyr”, “Moll Isa”, “The Curse”, “May 9th”, “Homeland”, “Moscow”, “Black Gold”, “Hero of Labor”, which were very popular .
