Sergey Berezhnoy ( July 20, 1949 - August 3, 2011 ) - Soviet and Russian ballet dancer, dancer and teacher of the Mariinsky Theater , people's artist of the RSFSR .

Biography
In 1967 he graduated from the Kiev Choreographic School (teacher V. A. Denisenko), and in 1970 - the Leningrad Choreographic School (teacher A. I. Pushkin ).
- 1970–1990 in the Kirov Theater . Dancer lyric plan. Since the end of the 1970s, he is a permanent partner of I. A. Kolpakova ,
- Since 1990 - teacher-tutor of the Kirov Theater. He brought up such ballet soloists as Viktor Baranov, Alexander Gulyaev, Dmitry Gruzdev, Nikita Scheglov, Mikhail Lobukhin , in recent seasons he worked with Maxim Zyuzin and Alexey Nedviga.
In 2006, he returned to the stage and gave a performance of the ballet “Golden Age”, and in 2010 Alexey Ratmansky attracted him to work on the Karenin part in the ballet “Anna Karenina”. This role was the last in the life of an artist.
He starred in the television movie-concert “The Soul of My Queen” (1981), in the ballet performances “Raymonda” (1980) and “Sleeping Beauty” (1982) (both in duet with I. Kolpakova), in the ballet film “Sylphide” ( 1984) (in duet with I. Kolpakova) and others.
Wife and partner in the scene - Tatiana Terekhova (Berezhnaya).
Buried at the Smolensk Orthodox cemetery in St. Petersburg
