Biography

Born in the family of a Ukrainian worker. He began his career in 1919: a courier, then a glassographer, a student of statistics, executive secretary of the local committee of the Southern Machine-Building Trust. In 1929-1931 served in the Red Army .

Since 1931 - responsible fuel executive, deputy authorized car building association, head of the fuel and equipment group of the Soyuzkaolin trust in Kharkov . In 1937 he joined the CPSU (b) . In 1939 he graduated from the evening department of the Kharkov Electrotechnical Institute .

Since 1939, the design engineer of the Kharkov Electromechanical Plant , in 1941-1942. - master, engineer of the department of the chief mechanic of an armored repair base.

Since 1942 - at party work: party organizer of an armored repair plant No. 12 of the Transcaucasian Front , in 1944-1948. - Party organizer of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks (b) of an armored repair plant No. 12 of the Volga Military District ; since 1948 - secretary of the party committee of the Kharkiv engine-building plant "Hammer and Sickle" ; party organizer of the Central Committee of the CPSU (b) at the Kharkov Turbine Plant named after S. M. Kirov . In 1950-1953 - Second Secretary of the Kharkov City Party Committee.

From 1953 to January 1954 - Chairman of the Kharkov City Executive Committee. From January 1954 to 1959, he was the second secretary of the Kharkiv Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine. From March 26, 1954 to February 16, 1960 - candidate for membership in the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine.

From 1959 to July 1964 - Secretary of the AUCCTU .

From July 1964 to July 1, 1983 - Chairman of the State Committee for Vocational Education at the State Planning Committee of the USSR (from October 1965 - State Committee of the Council of Ministers of the USSR for Vocational Education, from July 1978 - USSR State Committee for Professional -technical education).

He was elected deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of 6-10 convocations. From October 31, 1961 to March 30, 1971, he was a candidate member of the CPSU Central Committee; from April 9, 1971 to February 25, 1986 - member of the Central Committee of the CPSU.

Since July 1983 - a personal pensioner of national importance.

He was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery [2] .
