Biography
Ivan Pavlovich Rosly was born on July 8, 1902 in the village of Petrov Buda (now the Gordeevsky district of the Bryansk region ) into a poor peasant family. Russian
In the Red Army since 1924. He began his service as a Red Army soldier of the UVO convoy battalion, then he was the squad leader. In November 1925 he was transferred to the 151st Infantry Regiment to the position of company political instructor. In 1929 he graduated from the courses of political instructors at the infantry school. Since August 1936, the battalion commander in the 95th rifle regiment of the 32nd rifle division [1] . In 1937 he was enrolled in the Military Academy. M.V. Frunze. After the start of the Soviet-Finnish war in December 1939, interrupting training, he was sent to the front as a commander of the 245th Infantry Regiment of the 123rd Infantry Division [1] . During the battles, the regiment under the command of I.P. Roslogo was the first in the division to break through the heavily fortified enemy defense line in the Vyborg direction, capture several reinforced concrete pillboxes and, developing the offensive, ensured the success of the division. March 21, 1940 by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR for the successful command of the regiment and shown courage and heroism, Major Roslom Ivan Pavlovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
Soon I.P. Rosly was promoted to colonel and sent to the Transcaucasian Military District as commander of the 4th Rifle Division.
In this position he met the beginning of World War II. On August 1, 1941, the 46th Army was formed in the Transcaucasian Military District and the 4th Rifle Division was included in its composition. However, soon the division received orders to redeploy to the Southern Front , where it was included in the 18th Army . He led the combat operations of subordinate troops during the Donbass defensive and Rostov offensive operations. May 13, 1942 I. P Roslom was awarded the military rank of "Major General". Subsequently, the division of the 12th army fought north of Voroshilovgrad , defended itself on the Don, and by the end of August withdrew the Tuapse direction with fights.
On August 30, I.P. Rosly took command of the 11th Guards Rifle Corps. As part of the 9th Army of the Northern Group of Forces of the Transcaucasian Front, parts of the corps participated in the Battle of the Caucasus and distinguished themselves in repelling the enemy offensive in the Malgobek direction during the implementation of the Malgobek defensive operation from September to December 1942, as well as in disrupting his attempts to break into the most important oil areas of the Caucasus. In December 1942 he was appointed deputy commander of the 46th Army . From January 25 to February 10, 1943 I.P. Rosly served as commander of the 46th Army. Under his leadership, the troops successfully operated in the Novorossiysk-Maykop offensive operation and the liberation of the cities of Maykop and Krasnodar .
In mid-June 1943 he took command of the 9th Red Banner Rifle Corps. In September, as part of the 5th shock army, the corps participated in the Donbass and Melitopol offensive operations and the liberation of the cities of Makeyevka, Ordzhonikidze, Donetsk, Pologi, Chistyakovo. From March to the end of August 1944, the corps fought as part of the 57th Army of the 3rd Ukrainian Front and during this time took part in the Odessa operation, the battles to capture and hold a bridgehead on the right bank of the Dniester north-west of Bender and the initial phase of Iasi-Kishinev offensive operation . At the end of August, the corps was again included in the 5th shock army, which until the end of October was in the Reserve of the Supreme Command and then became part of the 1st Belorussian Front. I.P. Roslyi commanded the corps during the Warsaw-Poznan operation , the fighting to maintain and expand the bridgehead in the Küstrin area and in the Berlin offensive operation . April 20, 1945 he was awarded the military rank of "Lieutenant General".
On May 4, 1945, for combat distinctions during the storming of Berlin, Colonel-General N. E. Berzarin , Commander of the 5th Shock Army , introduced Commander Rosloy to be awarded the second Gold Star medal of the Hero of the Soviet Union, but higher authorities reduced the status of the award to Order of Lenin [2] [3] .
At the Victory Parade, Lieutenant General I.P. Rosly, commanded the combined regiment of the 1st Belorussian Front [1] [4] .
After the war, continued to serve in the army. In 1948 he graduated from the Higher Academic Courses at the Higher Military Academy. K.E. Voroshilova and from August 1948 he commanded the 16th Guards Rifle Corps. From May to August 1949 he was assistant commander of the 11th Guards Army of the Baltic Military District . In March 1957 he was appointed 1st Deputy Commander of the troops of the Carpathian Military District for universities. Since 1961, retired.
Ivan Pavlovich Rosly died on October 15, 1980. He was buried in Moscow at the Kuntsevsky cemetery [5] .
