Justinian ( VI century ) - Welsh hermit , holy martyr . Memorial Day - December 5th .
Saint Justinian (Justinian), or Justin (Jestin), or Stinan (Stinan) was born in Brittany in a noble family. Having been ordained a priest , he left his native land and went to South Wales, becoming a hermit on the island of Ramsay (Isle of Ramsey), off the coast of Dived .
When St. David of Welsh learned about the piety and holiness of Justinian, he invited him to his house and gave it at home both on the island and on the continent.
However, according to legend, the enemy of the human race did not leave Justinian. The sailors informed him that St. David was ill, and he urgently needed to swim to him. Going out to sea, St. Justinian became convinced that these were demons, and began to read 79 psalms. When he reached the appropriate place, they scattered like black crows. Safely landed, he met St. David in good health. Another time, a demon attacked him through his three servants. When St. Justinian blessed them to do business, they became furious, knocked him to the ground and beheaded. A wonderful healing spring crammed in the place where his saint fell. chapter. Like St. Dionysius (Comm. 9 October ), Justinian took his honest chapter in his hands and carried it where he would like to be buried. Subsequently, a temple was erected on this site. After many miracles of st. David moved his body to the new grave that was in this church.
In the Welsh calendars of St. Justinian is remembered as a martyr. The temple at Llanstinan (Llanstinan, Fishguard) was consecrated in his honor.
