Velvet Music is a Russian record label and production center founded by Alena Mikhailova and Liana Meladze. It was established in February 2004. At different times, distributors of the label's products were Mystery of Sound , Soyuz , Gala Records , CD Land and others. The producers of the company are Alyona Mikhailova and Liana Meladze.

History
Alyona Mikhailova from the mid-1990s worked at the Soyuz studio, creating the A&R department (artists and repertoire). Later, she headed the successful record label REAL Records (1998), which released the albums of Zemfira , Mumiy Troll , Spleen and other artists of Russian rock . Liana Meladze worked as the financial director of the label [1] .
In 2003, the company was sold to Channel One and both employees quit after the label was given to the management of Star Factory producer Joseph Prigozhin [1] . In February 2004, they founded their own label Velvet Music, although they did not have any contracts with former artists of REAL Records [2] . The only group with whom the contract was signed were Uma2rmaH. “For four months we went with the Uma2rman disc to the radio stations, trying to convince us to put her song on the air. First, “Our Radio” surrendered. Then “Russian Radio”, then the others became interested, ”recalled Alyona Mikhailova [1] . Work with the group was very successful and the debut album of the collective came out with a starting circulation of 300 thousand copies. In total, about one million copies of the record were sold per year [1] .
In 2005, the label also began working with the Vintage group and Valery Meladze. Later, such artists as the Chi-Li group, Polina Gagarina, VIA Gra and Vera Brezhneva were signed. Since 2010, they carry out full management and production of singer Yolki. In 2011, a contract was signed with Anita Tsoi, with whom Mikhailova and Meladze have known each other since 1997, since the release of her debut album at the Soyuz studio [3] .
According to the Tophit portal, according to a survey among music editors and program directors of CIS radio stations, Alena Mikhailova was named the "Best Producer of 2011" [4] .
The projects of the production center were nominated and awarded many times with prizes from MTV , RU.TV , Muz-TV , MusicBox TV channels , the Novoye Radio station (Higher League), as well as the artists of the center who won the Golden Gramophone award. In particular, in 2018, Yolka became a performer, whose tracks most often sounded on Russian radio stations over the past 10 years [5] , and Burito received several awards for the track “On the Waves” [6] [7] .
