Channel History
Kabelkanal cable channel began broadcasting on February 29, 1992 at 10.15 a.m. with the screening of a feature film. On the air of the newly created channel there were mainly old feature films. At the initial stage, access to the channel could only be through the Deutsche Telekom cable.
Since December 24, 1994 the channel is renamed to Kabel 1 and becomes available in satellite networks. Since July 14, 1997 the channel switches to round-the-clock broadcasting.
