Stephanie Coontz ( August 31 , 1944 ) is an American writer , historian and teacher at Evergreen State College ( Olympia, Washington ). He is the author and co-author of several books on family history and marriage .

Education
In 1966, Kunz received a bachelor 's degree in US history at the University of California at Berkeley , where she was a member of a political party and participated in the civil rights movement and the Freedom of Speech Movement. After graduating with honors, she was sent to the University of Washington , where she received a Woodrow Wilson scholarship .
In 1970, she received a master ’s degree in European history from this university , but then quit writing a thesis to become an employee and then national coordinator of the National Peace Action Coalition, which organized peaceful, legitimate demonstrations against Vietnam War .
Before returning to full-time training in 1975 , Stefani Kunz actively participated in the Youth Socialist Alliance associated with the Socialist Workers Party . However, in the late 1970s, Kunz left the party.
Career
Since April 2001, Director for Research and Education of the Council on Contemporary Families.
Fame and Creativity
She became known as the author of the book "The History of Marriage: Victory of Love" (Marriage, A History: How Love Conquered Marriage), which the Washington Post was recognized as one of the best books of 2005 .
He is also the author of such works :

Awards and Achievements
In 1995, she received the Dale Richmond Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics for “outstanding contributions in the field of child development ”.
In 2001 , the Illinois Family Relations Board received the Family Friend award.
