Chui canton

Chui canton is an administrative-territorial unit of the Kyrgyz Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic that existed in 1926-1928. Center - the city of Frunze (not part of the canton). In 1928 it was annexed to the Frunze canton .

The canton included 3 volosts:

  • Alamedin. 18 village councils, 222 settlements, 37,300 residents.
  • Kalinin. 6 village councils, 79 settlements, 22 504 residents.
  • Chuy. 9 village councils, 49 settlements, 25,148 residents.

According to data for 1926, the population of the canton is 85.2 thousand people. (Of these, Kyrgyz are 79.6 thousand, Russians - 2.3 thousand, Ukrainians 2.2 thousand)
