“Text” is a Moscow book publishing company founded in 1988 . At present, she specializes in publishing works by world classics and works by contemporary authors that are unknown to the Russian reader and have become famous in Europe and the USA, but still not translated into Russian. He also publishes contemporary Russian prose.

History
The Text Publishing House was founded in 1988 by a group of authors of the Moscow workshop of science fiction writers.
In 1991, the publishing house undertook the publication of the first in Russian representative collections of works by the Strugatsky brothers and Stanislav Lem .
Since 1996, the director of the publishing house is O. M. Libkin .
In 2006, literary critics interviewed by the Kultura newspaper named the Text among the seven best publishing houses in Russia [1] .
Authors
The Text Publishing House has opened to the Russian reader many well-known writers in the West, such as Pascal Bruckner , Katarina Masetti , Nancy Houston , Shan Sa and others. The novels of the well-known Canadian writer Nancy Houston - winner of the 2006 Prix Femina Prize - “Adoration” , “Dolce” Agonia ” and “ Seal of the Angel ” were prepared for publication with the support of the Canadian Council of the Arts and the Department of Foreign Affairs of Canada ; these works are published in Russian for the first time.
The publishing house also publishes novels by such famous writers as Samuel Becket , Bertolt Brecht , Isaac Bashevis Singer , Jean-Marie Gustave Leklesio , Isroel-Yeshua Singer , Meir Shalev , Gunnar Gunnarsson . For example, the first edition of Flaubert 's Education of Feelings , which had not previously been published in Russia, was published in 2005 as part of the Square series.
Among the domestic authors of the publishing house are Stanislav Rassadin , Boris Nosik , Gennady Prashkevich , Rada Polishchuk , Leonid Girshovich , Viktor Shenderovich , Evgeny Evtushenko , Kir Bulychev , Victor Konetsky , Alexander Mirer , Anatoly Kudryavitsky , Nikolai Dezhnev , Dina Hapaeva , and Miron Chernenko .
