The northern and eastern parts of the reservoir belong to the Border volost of the Krasnogorodsky district of the Pskov region of Russia , the small south-eastern part - to the rural settlement of Sebezhskoye of the Sebezhsky region [6] of the same region (in Russia - under the name Sinee ); the south-western part - to the Tsiblsky region of Latvia (known there as Zilezers ).
The area is 1.9 km² (190.0 ha), of which 1.1 km² (57%) belong to Latvia , 0.8 km² (81.8 ha or 43%) to Russia . The maximum depth is 6.0 m, the average depth is 4.0 m. The catchment area is 1300 km² [2] .
Flowing. It belongs to the basin of the Sinaya River (Zilupe) (across the Pernovka River), a tributary of the Velikaya River.
The type of lake is bream-coley. Massive types of fish: bream, pike, roach, perch, ruff, crucian carp, bleak, silver bream, rudd, ide, burbot, tench, loach, plucking, gudgeon. [2]
The lake is characterized by: the banks are mostly swampy, the bottom is sandy-silty, in the littoral - sand, silty sand, silt; in the riverbed Blue - sand, stones. [2]
