Story
Grateful pupils of the singing teacher give the red dog Ting, whom he brings to his cramped apartment, where he lives with his wife and children. In the housing issue of the Solomatin family, changes are taking place - the turn has come for a new living space. But at that moment the dog disappears, and Efrem Nikolaevich sincerely believes that he will not find a new address on his own. Therefore, he, then his whole family and pupils return to their old apartment with the new owners.
In parallel, there is a storyline about the preparation of the choir for the show, the soloist leaves, a new one appears ...

Facts
- Irina Alferova was not allowed to voice the film, her role was voiced by another actress. During the filming, she was still a student of the institute , students were forbidden to act in films during their studies [1] .
- For the sake of the episode of the housing inspector, Evgeny Evstigneev specially arrived in Leningrad for one day. In the morning he arrived by train, slept on the couch for about 40 minutes, after which he declared that he needed to leave in the evening, so he needed to work [1] .
- The children’s choir was played by the pupils of the Choir School at the Leningrad Chapel . Almost all the boys are from there [1] .
- In the original scenario, children's roles were for boys. But the director made adjustments to the script and wrote the role for Mila Vasyutinskaya, who played in his previous film “ Magic Power ” [1] .
- Notes to the visiting song “Puppy named Dog” were banned from publication due to the fact that the text was written by Alexander Galich (not indicated in credits). At the time the film was launched into production, Galich was prohibited from publishing - all his work, including a song about a puppy, was in disgrace. Sheet music and lyrics were published only in 1995 [1] .
- The puppy, at the beginning of the film, and the adult dog at the end, were played by the same dog Ting. A dog was bought at the Kondratieff market of Leningrad. The dog grew up on the set. After filming, he was taken to his house by Benjamin Basner [1] .
