Molybdenum concentrate is a concentrate of molybdenum raw materials.
Concentrate in the mining industry is called the product of mineral processing. The concentrate is more suitable for further processing than the feedstock.
Content
Getting
Molybdenum concentrate is obtained by:
- enrichment of molybdenum-containing ores
- hydrometallurgical processing of molybdenum raw materials
Further use
Molybdenum concentrate goes into production:
- ferromolybdenum
- tungsten- containing ligatures (alloys) based on molybdenum
- molybdenum salts
- technical molybdenum trioxide
Molybdenum concentrate is calcined in a drum rotary kiln to produce molybdenum trioxide .
When the concentrate is heated, toxic compounds are formed:
- sulfur dioxide SO 2
- sulfuric anhydride SO 3
They belong to the 3rd and 4th class of danger according to GOST 12.1.007 [1] .
Composition
- molybdenum sulfide MoS 2
- silicon dioxide SiO 2
- phosphorus compounds
- copper sulfide Cu 2 S
Production
Molybdenum concentrate is produced:
- Agarak plant
- Balkhash plant
- Sorsky Combine
- Zangezur Combine
- Zhireken plant
- Erdenet Combine
